Sight and touch are related in “pictotactiles”. Color shades, perceptible by sight, are also perceptible by touch through textures, where wool cuts produce color variations. Although in my painting color is synesthetic, in Tactitones this relationship is even more evident. We can touch, caress, sit and lie on the Tactitones.

Tactitones are abstractions that respond to the need to touch the other and to recognize oneself. Touch is a primary sense that allows to strengthen relationships. Among the senses, it is perhaps the most primitive one, and the first that we develop as individuals. By touching, we feel and recognize for the first time our corporeality in the womb. And from that moment, we are able to identify other bodies and approach a spectrum of sensations. Touching increases our ability to establish relationships. Contact reassures us and makes us feel that we belong in the world. And it enables us to create a place in it.
