    Couleur Additive

    Crosswalks Florida Hospital, Orlando 2018

The project proposal was done in collaboration with Cruz-Diez Foundation and ArtiCruz.

With these four Color Additive harmonies, Carlos Cruz-Diez conceives an ephemeral and participatory work integrated into the urban space with the aim of radically modifying the passer-by's experience. When Carlos Cruz-Diez installed his first Crosswalks in 1975 in the city of Caracas, he proposed a new visual stimuli that changed the dialectic between spectator and work. A new relationship of knowledge is established. The viewer discovers his ability to create or redo the color by his own perceptive means. Discovering the color by becoming, arising and disappearing before your eyes. Color Additive Orlando was specially created for the Florida Hospital. In order to optimize the chromatic effects, the work covers the entire space from sidewalk to sidewalk. "The artist has to provoke wonder, propose unusual objects and unprecedented situations. We have to break the rules. Unleash radical changes, question reality and create awareness. Nothing is stable, everything can be modified. Contrary to the painting that stops time, my technique produces an unstable event. It is all a reflection on the ephemeral, the ambiguous, the instability and the continuity of life. " CARLOS CRUZ-DIEZ / 2009

Incorporation of Art into Hospital Spaces

A project proposal done in collaboration with Atelier Cruz-Diez.

The innovative ideas of Carlos Cruz-Diez and the integration projects to hospital infrastructures are
designed to benefit its users, staff, visitors and patients, since color is a vital, social and human need.
The intervention that Cruz-Diez proposes for clinics and hospitals is based on chromatic rhythms from
color patterns that are repeated at different frequencies in continuous transformation that accompany
patients and visitors, activating their imagination in the interior and exterior spaces of the building.

A proposal done by artist Alessandro Del Vecchio.

Del Vecchio's work focuses on the use of the voronoi or tiessen diagram as a means to generate compositions, either two-dimensional or three-dimensional. In previous works he discovered a certain similarity between the voronoi and the cellular structure of plants (xylem and phloem), my works are a tribute to nature.
