Trong Gia Nguyen American/Vietnamese

Trong Gia Nguyen is a multi-disciplinary artist who received his MFA from the University of South Florida (Tamps, FL). Born in Saigon, Vietnam, he has lived over the last twenty years in New York City, Ho Chi Minh City, and now Brussels, Belgium.

He has exhibited internationally in numerous solo and group exhibitions including: Anthology for Beginners (SOLO), La Patinoire Royale, Brussels, Belgium, 2021; California Pacific Triennial, Orange County Museum of Art, Newport, CA, 2018; My Myopia (SOLO),  Cornell Museum of Fine Arts, Orlando, FL, 2018; The Foliage, Vincom Center for Contemporary Art, Hanoi, Vietnam, 2017; The Others, Piazzale Valdo Fusi, Torino, Italy, 2015; Eye on the Storm, Housatonic Museum of Art, Connecticut, 2013; Satellites in the Night, Freies Museum, Berlin, Germany, 2010; The Sixth Borough, New York, NY, 2010; Sequences, Reykjavik, Iceland, 2008; and Performa 05, Artists Space, New York, NY, 2005.

 

Trong has received grants and residencies from the Museum of Arts & Design (NY), Gate 27 (Istanbul, Turkey), Artist in Residence in the Everglades (FL), LegalArt Miami (FL), LMCC (NY), FabLab (CA), Harvestworks Digital Media Center (NY), Bronx Museum of the Arts (NY), and others. He has also guest-lectured and serve on discussion panels at CUE Foundation (New York, NY), School of Visual Arts (New York, NY), Columbia University (New York, NY), Catalyst Foundation (Washington, DC), Reykjavik Art Academy (Iceland), Riga Center for Contemporary Art (Latvia), Goethe Institute (Hanoi, Vietnam), and many others.
