An existential game of pingpong.
These are all real 3D printed guns whose files can be found and downloaded with relatively ease on the internet. They are printed disassembled and encased in shadowboxes that have been lined with "hunting" fabrics.
An engraved text on the plexiglas points to the absurdity of American gun laws and debates, toxic masculinity, and the obsolescence of these weapons. It's illegal to buy a gun in most states without some kind of background check, but it is absolutely legal to buy all the gun parts separately and assemble it yourself. For personal use, of course, and you are good to go!
The aesthetic of the framed firearms hint at the "break in case of emergency" extinguisher boxes. In this case, plexiglas is by contrast, nearly unbreakable. Even if one can get to the contents, there would still necessitate the knowledge to assemble the guns properly.
Equally absurdist, logos have been added onto the design of the 3D files. Each "model" carries formidable "brands" like "Bitches & Sons" and "Birther Buster".
